Geography, history, music theory, and maybe even a little acoustics, painlessly presented. Suitable for schools, community centers, folklore societies. Format: Lecture-demonstration accompanied by large maps with instruments mounted on them. Hawaii, Indonesia, China, Southeast Asia, India, Siberia, Western Europe. Q&A afterwards. [45 min]

Fun workshop on how to make the Poppit,© a simple linguaphone based on an ancient Hawaiian instrument. Easily made with readily available craft supplies. Great for kids! Handout included. [20 min.]

How-to-Play Workshops
Flexible length and content, but generally covers: hand positions; tongue placement; fingering techniques; finding a good instrument; playing with other instruments; comparing bamboo, brass, and steel. Loaners available; handouts included. [45–90 min]
